  • Work with the executive team to ensure smooth running of hospital facility
  • Provide guidance oversight and ongoing quality care
  • Provide leadership to physicians and team leaders
  • Provide oversight of delivery model

Physician Leadership

  • Plays a key role in physician professional development
  • Ensure patients have appropriate physician coverage
  • Review physician and health care practitioners’ credentials
  • Monitor and give feedback to physicians and other practitioners’ on performance

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide  administrative and development of policies and procedures leadership related to patient care
  • Implement clinical practices to ensure the facility is in compliance with regulations and laws
  • Review and participate in federal, state and local surveys and inspections
  • Monitor policies and procedures in regard to the protection of patients’ rights, advanced care planning

Quality of care

  • Overview systems and methods for reviewing the quality and appropriateness of care and other health services
  • Engage in the facility’s quality improvement processes
  • Implement policies and procedures related to protect against the spread of infections.
  • Ensure a safe and caring environment is provided for patients while in facilities
  • Continue affiliations with primary care providers to ensure continuity of care for patients

Education and Communication

  • Encourage a learning culture among the staff and patients within the facility
  • Lead staff workforce health and safety by implementing policies and procedures
  • Maintain  communication between staff, patients and families
  • Connect to the professional and lay community on medical and health services o
  • Keep updated on changing social, regulatory, political and economic factors that affect the facility and its patients
  • Provide best practices and deliver effective solutions to needs raised by patients, staff and community

Business development

  • Promote the benefits of the facility to the professional and lay community
  • Establish effective relationships with all providers, health care organisations and community
  • Create relationships with key referral sources.
