CEO Hospital Appointments

Here are CEO appointments in the Queensland hospitals healthcare sector:

  1. Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service: Lisa Blackler has been appointed as the Health Service Chief Executive, bringing her experience from New Zealand to help lead Central Queensland’s health services. Her role involves overseeing health initiatives and improving healthcare quality in the region​

     

  2. North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS): Craig Carey took over as CEO, having previously served in various Queensland health roles, including as General Manager of Acute Health Services in Central West Health. His background in public health and policy analysis will be crucial as NWHHS transitions to a board-led organization​
  3. West Moreton Health – Tobi Wilson will join as CEO in mid-January 2024, coming from South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Wilson is expected to lead efforts to improve patient care and advance the health service’s objectives​

     

  4. Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service – Rex O’Rourke has been appointed as the new Chief Executive, set to begin his role on January 15, 2024. O’Rourke brings extensive experience in remote and First Nations health services from his previous role at the WA Country Health Service​
